Hi all, Just brought my first C2, a nice 2004 VTR. Its got the old Sensodrive software so I enquired from three local (Kent) dealers via email to see how much they would charge to update it. I couldnt beleive the difference in prices.
1. £81.25 plus vat
2. The only way we can check the software version your car has at present it to check it with the Citroen diagnostic tool which costs £35.25 inc vat. It is difficult to give an exact price for any new downloads as they all vary in length depending on which/any are due, but as a guide there would be an approximate further cost of £88.13.
3. £50 + VAT = £58.75 incl VAT.
Guess I know where I'll be taking it :-D

Im glad to see you still have that cracking sense of humour I love so much Mr Bramley! :-D
I actually went into Citroen on Tuesday, & as I walked in everyone was looking at me. Then I realised that in one of the offices there was about 6 TV screens with them getting the CCTV camera's to have a nose about my car! :(
Been getting prices for the update
and most are coming back at round £80ish

How do I know if I need it doing?

I'm no VTR expert, but i suspect that when its hooked upto a Citroen computer it will say what software it already has on the car, and then say if there is an update available.
How do I know if I need it doing?
The older software came out of AUTO mode when a gear was selected with the paddles or stick, the newer one stays in Auto.

Oh right..
Mine's 04 plate, but when I change using the Paddles it says in Auto so must be fine.

Can this be done on a furio 04?
Dosent take it out of auto when you use the paddles or stick <<< IS that all the new software does?
It makes the changes smoother and feel a little quicker too, but its SO much hard work trying to get a dealership to do it at your request :(
heya all :-D
just got a price for the update from one dealer at £44.03
so might get it done now :thumb:

I got the same price from Citroen Birmingham, £44+VAT. But they said they were unable to update the software on my car  ?
Off topic: Also, with the electrical issues I've been having, dropped it off at 9am today, they ring me 4pm, to tell me they won't touch my car because it has an aftermarket alarm and audio equipment :veryangry: .
The Citroen Specialist here can't do anything since Citroen doesn't allow for the software to be released.
£44.03 was inc vat for me (Citroen Nuneaton) :-D
ILL-EAGLE is your car still under warranty ??
because my isnt and as aftermarket audio kit aswell as other stuff
cheers

No, mine is an 03 car so that expired long ago.
I don't think you'll have a problem with them doing yours because of the audio equipment, my main issue is the Clifford alarm.
O right
a shame they couldn't do the update for ya still :( !!
will let ya all know how i get on with it all when i have it done :thumb:

I drive a 55 VTR and they only updated it once. I am pushing them to update it again as my warranty is going to finish in October.

Just come back from Citroen dealer, had the update done on my 55 reg, Warranty ends Dec 31,
I'd asked them a few times if there was an upgrade and was always told that mine had the latest software, I complained that the gearchange was getting sloppy, and they agreed to do it, It's much better on the gearchange now.
Really ! makes a big difference to the gearbox then ?
hope mine will be better on the gearchange aswell after ! seeing as it was one of the early "53" sensodrive units
going in 2mo so we shall see how much better it is !!
will let ya all know :thumb:
had the update done 2day !!
110% better now

Mine does that actually.. When i'm in very slow traffic, if I had a clutch I could put it down and bring it up abit to keep moving forward slowly.. In mine it sometimes feels like it going to stall because i'm only very slightly on the accelerator.
Sound like what yours was doing?
