I have always wanted a DVD player in my car, and now it makes sense with my constant use of my Ipod in the car. I want more robust control of my Ipod and a touch screen DVD player would give this. I am looking at something like this below:

Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD Motorised DVD Player

Click Here (http://www.caraudiodiscount.com/avhp5000dvd-motorised-dvd-player-p-12832.html)

Shopping around I could probably get this for around £400

Its has full ipod connection, and it will also play video off my ipod. It plays DVD, CD's and I can get a bluetooth box for it which will give me hands free for my phone, and as I lost my headset so I was going to have to buy one of these any way.

Also my fiancée could then have my current pioneer head unit in her car as we were going to buy her one for her ipod but this would save me buying one for her.

Has anyone else on here got a motorized DVD player/screen? It lights up in red so it will match the dash. I was looking at Pioneer as its a good make and I want to avoid the crappy own make ones. Plus it can have a reverse camera

Plus my brother-in-law to be has just got one for his new Hyundai Coupe and the animal instinct in me wants to better him.

If you got the money mate get it! I've always been a fan of the double din one's on eBay, they're cheap but Jap, so apparently very good quality etc.

But that looks like a very nice bit of kit, my mate got a similar one and they are v. cool, even if its just for the showing off factor haha! :)

ye dont most of them have a thing so the handbrake has to be on for the screen to work anyway

I think its illegal to play a movie, but its not illegal to have the screen on displaying track details, otherwise sat navs would be illegal as well.

Technically you can ground that cable and it would work all the time. All though I think that's illegal

If u wanna be clever then wire it to a hidden switch which gives it a ground that way if you get pulled u can show it dont work when driving, and ure rite its only watchin DVD that is illegal.

Also get a Double din pioneer 3100 ive got, same price, better ipod interface, album artwork and loads better graphics.

Hope this helps

Hi sorry about the long delay, but I haven't been back on here in ages.

I ended up buying the Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD with the bluetooth box and ipod cable. Managed to get a bargain by shopping around on-line. I'm really happy with it, does exactly what I wanted, full ipod control and the bluetooth is great.
