Given mine a 3, they were very good during the sales process and very helpful and got a great deal, the service department is a bit poor and tell fibs at times, especially to my mother! lol, because she is a woman and they probably think they can tell her anything! like most dealers do with her!

25-05-2005, 11:36 PM
they havent tried to fook me over, probably instill fear into them with my presence and scare them with my youthful mobbish arrogance ;)

My dealer stinks, it's all sell sell sell, they give you a load of crap. stuff goes in not working, and comes out miriculasly fine. like my suspension, trip computer, abs, etc. They even forgot the SX badge after accident repair, and broke the blue translucent bit on the door jamming a piece paper in it to keep it still.
I wish there was somwhere more convienient than them, apart from having to go 20 miles to Hastings. Grrrrrrrrrrr................... (P.S, car fine [eventually])

I had major probs with my C2 Furio.

Fuel Pump Has been replaced (went into garage twice before they knew what the problem was) as on rare occasions it wouldn't start at all. - They're diagnosis of this problem was unprofessional, all they did was keep it for two days and start it on each morning they're attitude was "well if it doesn't do it with us then we can't rectify it." They wouldn't actually take the car in and keep it till it showed the fault either, so i was left with an unreliable car. I actually called citroen assist one morning after 20mins, they were there, and we eventually got it started(to my dismay), if we hadn't i was getting it towed and planting it on the forecourt.

COM2000 or whatever its called was replaced as indicator stalk was sticking

CD Changer (idc-509 blaupunkt) - still having problems where it just dies as soon as you select a CD.

Jumped out of gear / wouldn't initialise 1st gear (i bought it december 2003, but it was ex-demo so must have been early model) - it required a patch on the gearbox. would display frost symbols even though it wasnt frosty.

Locked me in a few times (quite funny at the time but it gets boring!) so they updated the software to rectify that problem.

Rear shock also leaking fluid at 16000 miles- needed replacing.

Overall the initial 12 months i had this car, i must have had the lovely 'running on empty' courtesy car C3 around 7 or 8 times!

The attitude of the woman on the service counter- when i was telling her about it locking me in she said "in the WHOLE time you had the car only 3 timess?" like it was the norm! what if i were in a flash flood for instance and this happened? would hav been a gona!

ne way enough whinging, its in for service on weds so will see what happens there!!!

mine is returning to the dealer in Manchester on Thursday to get its door trim and seats sorted. The door trim on drivers door keeps coming away and causing a loud vibration noise when music is on, even if bass levels are at their lowest of -9 (standard radio)

the seat trims are coming away from the foam ont he front seats, and the foam and the trim is coming away from the metal of the seat altogether on the passenger seat!!

will see how my dealer behaves, it may get a upgrade in rating or a possible downgrade! considering I am having to wait as well for the repairs! btw, do any of your Citroen dealers charge you for the use of courtesy cars? ours charge £15 a day for insurance purposes, even if your fully comp!

I didn't get charged the second, third forth or fifth time for courtesy car. Did have to take the car back in the morning to get another one because "we gave you the wrong one". WAAAAAA! IT'S A COURTESY CAR!!! The first time it was a 2.0 t-spark alfa 156 sportwagon, not exactly a C2 HDi equivelent i think eh? the insurance was free otherwise, and they didn't expect it back with the same petrol in, best thing about the place really. (except the girl on reception..... hot)
ANYONE GOT AN IDEA ABOUT GETTING THE TURBO LAG TUNED OUT OF ME MOTOR? IS IT POS? what you all reckon of my smooth grille? looked stupid without the badge. you'll have to look at my little pic on the top left there.<--

rubbish for me. :(

leave the badge, lets people know what make is flying up behind them and adds to the naturally mean look of the c2, theyre like the sharp pointy evil nose or something. ive not been drinking, honest!

having more problems with my c2 furio - see post above-

after i wrote that, i discovered the front passenger seat is rattling. great. i know its probably only a bolt but for gods sake! one thing after another.

Also theres rattle on the airbox which u can hear at about 3k revs.

I got a CD Changer for my troubles. --- This stopped working properly recently, when you press the cd changer button it flicks back to the radio and flashes all its little lights at me.

I suppose i better book it in again.

The dealer i have dealt with is John Wilding Citroen, in Morecambe.

Has anyone been put off buying another citroen ? i certainly have, there a lovely car but why so many problems!

I have been looking a gorgeous MG ZR 160, in dark green metallic, 52 reg, £6500.

yeah i was put off with my local dealer in wrexham. his name was DAVE! he is a right goon! took me ages to get my first C2(furio 1.4). about a month an a couple of weeks. i keped ringin in every week.yeah, i was looking forward to gettin it but he said he couldnt give me a deffo date of delivery. he said to me 'its not a washing machine you know'! the f@*'n arse! so i rang up and said cancel the deal. he pooed his pants and gave me a date of delivery, mats and a full tank of peterol. Last month i got my new vts from a citroen garage in liverpool. spot on service! got my car within a week! how quick was that! so my experience....depends where you go for customer service.

05-06-2005, 09:46 PM
TB honest its not actually citroen's service, its the service of the dealers who just represent citroen. Im sure if some of you contacted citroen direct they would be dumbstruck to hear some of the stories, because at the end of the day some of the dealers are giving them a bad name.

I found a dealer that was spot on - Dixons in Rotherham, ive had loadsa troubles but they have been o.k with me.

Had a good laugh at a citroen tech today, I asked what I need if I want to change the OEM Clarion cd-player. He said that I would have to re-wire the whole car, including speakers, because of the "BUS".

Mines due it's 1500 mile pre-service jobbie, passenger side airbag casing rattles at low revs, the left indicators a bit dodgy at certain corners (you can't knock the beggar down!,) I think thats all.

Will let you know what sort o' service I get, again they where very good at selling it me (including lettin' me do 80mph on the test drive!)

As it's in B'ham, a few peeps might be interested if it's any better than norm.

:D Mark :D

Absolute morons...I had a geezer tell me after I reported a problem with my central locking & alarm that a GT has no alarm or immobiliser???

Also a very flippant attitude when I had a moan about the paintwork.

And finally not impressed when I took it back for the rear caliper upgrade. Wasn't ready when promised.

Very poor, it's well put me off buying a neew motor from Citroen again, no matter how good the discounts.

My dealer was pretty good before but they closed it down!!!!!

After they started concentrating on ROVER's!!!!! Now lets see what happens to them!!!

They were all pretty good in there! I bought my saxo brand new in there and then the C2 and the guy that sold me both was always up for a chat and remembered nearly everything about me! Same as the service guy! First name basis it was LMFAO

Since last year I had no contact with Citroen so can't say anything for a current one!!! Will need 20k service soon so watch this space!!!!

C2, 1.6, 2006 sensodrive. Bought second hand 16 months ago & had not one single problem until 2 months ago. All the faults there is to come up on the display panel came up time and time again. I replaced the brake switch and that deemed to cure the fault but, 4 days later all the faults emerged again. Took it to my Citroen dealer TCC in Sunderland and they had it for 8 days trying to find the problem and eventually pinned it down to a faulty relay, £129 in all so really quite good indeed. Got the car back this morning and running fine. Service was EXCELLENT, daily telephone calls to me on their progress, EXCELLENT. Car cleaned inside and out, EXCELLENT. I had sent an e-mail to Citroen France about the problems and sugested their Anylisers were no good, just pointed the mechanics in the right direction rather than define the fault. Got a telephone call from Citroen head Office in Slough this afternoon apologising for the time it took to find and repair the fault and as a good will gesture they will re-fund the £129 to me within a few days, EXCELLENT, TCC CITROEN SUNDERLAND 10/10.
