Midlands Meet - Selfridges B'ham Cancelled!!

The Latest Midlands meet will be on the 15th or 16th of August, and be at the roof level of the Selfridges car park in birmingham town centre.

There will be plenty to do on the day, the location is great for photos,
outdoor on the roof, and indoor should it be raining.
We could go the cinema, (few good films on at the moment)
grab something to eat, (pubs, restaurants, fast food etc)
do a spot of shopping,
have a quick drink in one of the bars,
and much more if we want because obviously its the town.




I think you have to come from the tunnel to get into the carpark because of the on way system, but i will test the sat nav takes you the right way before hand.

The weekend is open to the Saturday or Sunday so whoever is coming let me know what day would be best.
The time would also be flexible, but about dinner time, or late evening would be best i think.

Lets get a list going, and make it a good day with plenty of things to do.

If we met around 6ish, by the time everyone got there, we had something to eat and went bowling/cinemas etc it would be getting on a bit! I'm not as young as the rest of you, i need my sleep lol

If you come past Aston Uni, you go down the hill and follow the road to the right. There's a few speed humps, then you go under the Moor Street station bridge (stay left). Entrance to the car park is as soon as you come out of the tunnel. The car park entrance is quite tight, but there's tons of spaces.

Good to see people using my photoshoot location map. Dont forget that car park shuts around 10pm ish, I would give them a call if I was you to check. It is a great location. Think I may go back now as my car has changed so much since I took that photo. Have fun, James.

i feel really bad about this, i would of come but my doctor has told me not to drive as my backs wrecked and am on very strong pills that make me unable to driver proply

No worries mate, its not your fault tom. Im just saying it hard to arrange anything when people dont put ideas forward for locations, when one is chosen they dont like it.

I can arrange anything for the club, but i need people to help and join in to make it all worth while.

Best just going along to cruises and big events yourself and letting the rest deal with themselfs :lol:

I dont think its a question of people not being bothered but you have to look at how many "Active" members there are in a certain area and out of those active members, some are just happy to use the forum for advice and guidance and arent that fussed about meets anyway.

So going on the small number of people that want to actually meet up and then trying to pick a date that suits the majority is always going to be a difficult thing to do. I can appreciate how frustrating it is when people pull out at the last minute but sometimes these things happen...thats probably also the same reason why sometimes people dont like commiting to them..in case they have to pull out afterwards!
